The Lion Hotel 1868 (200g)

£6.00

The Blaenafon Cheese Company’s iconic The Lion Hotel 1868 is a smooth and deliciously creamy Mature Cheddar with a distinctive bite. Aged deep in the cellars of Blaenavon’s award-winning Lion Hotel and Restaurant, it pays tribute to the town’s turbulent political past. The hotel was the scene of pro-democracy riots after a Conservative MP was returned in the 1868 General Election. The majority of local people supported the liberal candidate but didn’t have the right to vote, sparking violent protests.
