We’ve headed north to bring you not just three but four fabulous artisan cheeses, including multi-award-winning Yorkshire Blue, crumbly Yorkshire Fettle, full-flavoured Extra Mature Yorkshire Cheddar and creamy Northern Brie. Yorkshire Blue, 200-225g
From the Shepherd’s Purse dairy in Thirsk, Yorkshire Blue is a real crowd pleaser with a raft of gongs to its name, including a Gold at the 2019 World Cheese Awards. Handmade using rich pasteurised cows’ milk from local Yorkshire herds and matured over eight weeks, it has a sweet, mellow flavour that deepens as the cheese ripens without compromising its mild creaminess. Suitable for vegetarians.

Yorkshire Fettle, 225-250g
Another worthy award-winner from Shepherd’s Purse, Yorkshire Fettle is a creamy feta-style sheep’s milk cheese with a piquant, lemony flavour and slightly crumbly texture. The dairy uses whole sheep’s milk, hand salting the rounds and maturing them for at least two weeks for a subtle briny tang. Then they hand wax each truckle to lock in the fresh flavour and creamy texture. Delicious in salads or as part of a cheeseboard. Suitable for vegetarians.

Extra Mature Yorkshire Cheddar, 225-250g
From The Yorkshire Creamery in Wensleydale, this Extra Mature Yorkshire Cheddar packs a real punch. It’s handcrafted using pasteurised cows’ milk from local herds and aged for around 15 months for a really rich, robust flavour. Not for the faint-hearted! Suitable for vegetarians

Northern Brie, 135-150g
Handmade in Lancashire using pasteurised cows’ milk, Northern Brie is a mellow mould-ripened soft cheese in the best French tradition. Gorgeously creamy with a buttery texture and velvety edible rind it’s delicious just as it comes, but equally good baked in quiches and tarts, and sensational as a stuffing for prosciutto-wrapped chicken breast fillets. Suitable for vegetarians.
