Fruity and full flavoured, Comté is a classic French mountain cheese with a firm, creamy texture and notes of toasty hazelnut. It’s made from raw cow’s milk, with the best cheeses selected for ripening by affineurs (cheese-aging experts). Our Comté comes from Maison Marcel Petite, who mature their cheeses over many months in the stone-vaulted cellars of Fort Saint Antoine, high in the Jura Mountains. The result is a uniquely complex cheese with real depth of flavour. Made with animal rennet.
